A knife-wielding thug wasn’t satisfied when a frightened garage employee handed over cash - he demanded vapes as well.
Serial offender John Veitch, 36, was jailed for 26 months at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.
He admitted assault and robbery at the BP service station in Queensway, East Kilbride, on June 19. He was on bail at the time.
Aga Mathieson, prosecuting, said two members of staff were in the garage shop when Veitch arrived around 2am.
His face was partially covered but he was recognised.
Ms Mathieson told the court: “Veitch pulled a knife from his pocket and brandished it, stating ‘Give me the money, the quicker the better’.
“The complainer, fearful for his safety, opened the till and gave the accused £90 in notes.
