The number of tickets sold for Roswell's first National Championship Air Races (NCAR) and Air Show has been stated to have totaled at least 50,000. Heavy rain caused many of the races originally scheduled to take place on Saturday to be postponed to Sunday instead.
However, optimism about next year’s air races was attributed to a great deal of positive feedback, according to airport commissioners and other city representatives during the Roswell Airport Advisory Commission on Tuesday. It was the first meeting of this group since NCAR was held at the Roswell Air Center because the planned September meeting was canceled.
“A number of people were saying what a wonderful time they had,” said Commissioner Jon Hitchcock, who was also named to the NCAR board in late 2024.
