During their meeting on Tuesday evening, members of the Roswell Independent School District Board heard about an issue that has surfaced at DeBremond Stadium. Cracks in three of the bleachers' pillars have been discovered, said Jeremy Sanchez, the district’s construction coordinator.
During an update about construction projects, Sanchez described the bleachers on the south side of the nearly 90-year-old facility at 100 W. 11th St., as a ”public safety” issue that would require restricting access to that section.
DeBremond was constructed in 1936 as a local Works Progress Administration project. It has provided a place for sports and community events, but like many other structures in Roswell, it was impacted by the October 2024 flooding disaster.
