PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police have arrested a man several days after a 34-year-old woman was shot in the chest.
The victim was taken to a hospital early Sunday morning in stable condition. On Monday, police identified 35-year-old Calvin Freeman as a suspect.
On Wednesday, officers found Freeman in the 2400 block of W. Northland Avenue. He was taken to the police department for questioning.
During an investigation, police executed a search warrant on his vehicle and his home on W. Gift Avenue. They found a 9mm handgun inside his home.
Freeman was arrested for aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery with a firearm, no FOID, and possession of a weapon by a felon.
He was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
