OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. — Oldham County Schools voted 5-0 against implementing off-campus moral instruction.
In a special meeting Wednesday evening, the Oldham County Board of Education denied the proposal that would have allowed some students to leave the classroom an hour weekly for Bible study.
In a unanimous vote, one by one, board members voiced their concerns about off-campus Bible education.
Board member Carly Clem said its decision to deny Lifewise, a nonprofit organization that offers Bible-based classes to public school students around the country, was based purely on logistics.
