MACOMB (WGEM) - Discussions continue to take place in an effort to bring a career and technical education center to Macomb.

Superintendent Patrick Twomey said that he, representatives from the Macomb Area Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO), Spoon River College, the Bushnell School District and West Prairie School District are meeting again later this month to make strides.

“I do believe that we will have a career and technical education center in Macomb. What I just don’t know at this point is the scale of what that’ll look like,” Twomey said.

The group is discussing the possibilities of making the CTE center a regional center, meaning the facility would be open to several schools in the area.
