N.C. Rep. Cecil Brockman is facing child sex crimes charges and is currently being held in the Guilford County jail.

Brockman, 41, has been charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of statutory rape of minors aged 13 through 15, according to jail records.

The indecent liberties charges Brockman faces involve minors younger than 16.

Jail records show no bond has been set for Brockman.

The News & Record has reached out to Brockman’s legislative assistant for comment.

Brockman, a Democrat from High Point, has served in the N.C. House of Representatives for more than a decade.

He has faced criticism from his party in recent years for missing votes and, in some cases, siding with Republicans on specific issues.
