Theft charged: Two people who allegedly loaded a “full cart of groceries” from Kroger they hadn’t paid for into a red pickup were taken into custody, Tuesday. Police reported finding “a large amount of groceries piled up in the back seat” of the truck after an employee pointed them to the vehicle and the two people getting in it. Thomas L. Tennant, 30, and Marlana E. Hart, 32, both of 543 N. Fifth Street Toronto were booked for misdemeanor theft, police said. Because they already were on probation through Steubenville Municipal Court, they said Judge John Mascio Jr. ordered them held without bond. Police said 72 items valued at nearly $490 were recovered.
