The HIPOW Masquerade Ball is happening on Saturday, so students at Immaculate Conception Grade School and Monroe Catholic High School are transforming Boileau Hall for the annual event.
HIPOW stands for Happiness Is Paying Our Way. It is the premiere annual fundraiser dinner and auction for Catholic Schools of Fairbanks, now in its 56th year. It has become the largest annual fundraiser for the schools, every second weekend in October, every year.
This year, the theme is “A Masquerade to Remember,” on Saturday at Boileau Hall at Monroe High School.
In preparation for the event, which will host hundreds of people, high school seniors are ironing tablecloths, fifth graders are labeling items with sponsor logos, and junior high school students are placing 72 tables and 600 chairs in the gym
