The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked the makers of Malayalam film 'Haal', starring Shane Nigam, to remove certain scenes and dialogues citing religious sensitivities. The Revising Committee, while granting the film an ‘A’ certificate, flagged portions involving religion and culture, saying the film was not suitable for unrestricted public viewing. The filmmakers have subsequently approached the Kerala High Court, challenging the board’s directive.

According to a report by PTI, the CBFC instructed the removal of scenes showing beef biryani being consumed and dialogues referencing ‘ dhwaj pranam ’, claiming these could hurt religious sentiments.
