COLUMBIA, S.C. (WBTV) - A man’s dead body was found on the banks of a river in South Carolina this week, officials confirmed.

The body was found along the Congaree River in Columbia, around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

Columbia kayakers found the body on the riverbank close to , which is right at the University of South Carolina’s baseball field.

Sister-station reported the body was that of 38-year-old Addison L. Brown. Police told WIS that no foul play was suspected.

It was unclear how or when Brown died, but Columbia police said an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

Members of the Columbia-Richland Fire Department helped get Brown’s body off the riverbank before it was turned over to the Richland County Coroner’s Office.
