The largest great white shark ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean has reemerged near Canada, according to r esearchers who have been tracking the magnificent fish.

Contender, who has been measured at nearly 14 feet long and 1,653 pounds, was first tagged in January off the Florida-George coast by OCEARCH , a non-profit organization that conducts research on large marine animals

Last week, researchers received a signal from Contender in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, off the Labrador Peninsula in Canada.
