MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Miami-Dade Fire Rescue rescued a pilot and a passenger after a plane crash in the Florida Everglades on Tuesday.

The plane flipped over 20 miles west of Miami Executive Airport in a remote area of the Everglades.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, air rescue crews responded to reports of a plane down at 2:44 p.m. and canvassed the area before locating the two individuals. The individuals climbed out of the plane, leaving them stranded on the wing until assistance arrived.

Air Rescue South conducted a hoist operation due to the remote location and terrain of the Everglades.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue released a video, showing the helicopter crew safely removing the individuals from the plane before transporting them back to Miami Executive Airport.
