NORA, Ill. — A train derailed early on Thursday morning in Jo Daviess County.

Just after 12 a.m. on Oct. 9, the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office was called to the railroad crossing on N. Stagecoach Trail near E. Chestnut Street in Nora for reports of multiple train cars derailing.

When deputies and EMTs arrived, they reported no injuries.

Fire departments, hazmat teams, law enforcement agencies, and railroad personnel also responded.

The Sheriff's Office told the public to avoid the area while the cleanup begins. North Stagecoach Trail in the Nora area will be closed until further notice.
