Bear sighting prompts warning in southwest Calgary

"Please use caution and do not approach the animal."

A black bear sighting in the southwest community of Oakridge has prompted an advisory to stay away from the bruin.

The sighting was made in the 400 block of Oakwood Place S.W. on Thursday morning.

“The bear was not aggressive and Fish and Wildlife are aware,” states an advisory from first responders.

“Please use caution and do not approach the animal.”
