Syracuse, N.Y. — A fire damaged a small room inside a third-floor Syracuse apartment Thursday morning, according to fire officials.
The fire was reported around 8:50 a.m. after several 911 callers saw smoke coming from a multi-unit building, according to Onondaga County 911 Center dispatch reports.
When fire crews arrived at 134 Beard Ave., they found smoke showing from the left side of the third floor, said Syracuse District Chief Greg Peterson.
“It was a quick attack. We had it knocked down in about 20 minutes,” he said.
The fire was contained to a small room off the living room in Apartment 4, the top unit in a four-apartment building. All residents were evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported, Peterson said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
