WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (PIX11) --- A 99-year-old landlord died weeks after he was robbed of $20,000 at gunpoint in one of his Manhattan buildings, police said Thursday.

Jose Antonio Tur died on Wednesday after suffering a stroke after the robbery at his building near West 187th Street and Audubon Avenue in Washington Heights on the morning of Sept. 22, according to police and sources.

Tur was lured to the side of the five-story building after getting a call about a package delivery at around 10 a.m. When Tur opened the door, the suspect pushed him, and the two fought before Tur's hand was crushed in the door, authorities said.

The suspect then allegedly held a gun to Tur's back and told him to take him to the office in the building's basement, where the victim kept rent payments.
