NEWBURGH, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 13-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday after an 11-year-old boy was shot to death inside a Newburgh home, according to authorities.

Police officers responded to a house on North Miller Street around 8:15 a.m. Officers found an 11-year-old boy inside, dead from a gunshot wound, according to authorities.

Police said officers found a firearm during their investigation. Three juveniles believed to be connected to the incident were also located by officers, according to authorities.

Police said the 13-year-old suspect, not related to the victim, was charged with murder.

The shooting prompted a lockout at Newburgh Enlarged City School District.
