THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – An NYPD sergeant was injured in a fight with an 18-year-old boy who allegedly pulled a gun on his family in the Bronx on Thursday, sources told PIX11 News.
Police said it happened on Van Nest Avenue around 9:15 p.m. A father had called 911, saying his son had tried to rob his mother and older brother at gunpoint, according to authorities.
Police said that the son fled the home, heading to a building on East Gunhill Road. When officers confronted him there, he allegedly tried to claim he wasn’t who they were looking for, according to authorities.
Police said after officers formed a perimeter, they heard gunshots inside the building and ran in. The suspect allegedly tried to run out the door, according to authorities.
