**Tim Westwood Faces Multiple Charges of Rape and Assault** Former BBC Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood has been charged with a series of serious sexual offences, including four counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and nine counts of indecent assault. The charges involve allegations from seven different women and span a period from 1983 to 2016. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the charges following a thorough investigation. Westwood, 68, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 11 November. The allegations include an incident in 1983, where a 17-year-old girl was reportedly indecently assaulted in Fulham, London. In 1986, a woman in her 20s was allegedly sexually assaulted in Vauxhall. Between 1995 and 1996, a female aged 17 to 18 is said to have been raped in London, with further allegations of sexual assault against the same individual during that time. Further accusations include the rape of a woman in her 20s in London in 2010, as well as a sexual assault on another woman in her 20s in Stroud, Gloucestershire, the same year. In 2016, a woman in her 20s was allegedly sexually assaulted in Finchley, London. Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy from the Metropolitan Police stated, "It takes courage to come forward and report allegations of this nature. The women who have done so have put their trust in us and we continue to provide them with all available support." He also encouraged anyone affected by the case or with information to come forward, assuring that all reports would be handled confidentially by specialist officers. Support is available through the independent charity, Rape Crisis, which offers a 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line. Westwood has previously denied all allegations of inappropriate behaviour. The ongoing investigation remains open as authorities continue to gather information related to the case.
