**King Charles and Prince William Unite for Climate Action** King Charles III and Prince William made a rare joint appearance at the Natural History Museum in London, announcing significant plans ahead of the COP30 climate change summit. The event, held to mark six weeks until world leaders convene in Belém, Brazil, revealed that Prince William will represent his father at the summit next month. William is already scheduled to be in Brazil for the Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony on November 5. During his visit, he will engage in various environmental activities before heading to Belém for the crucial summit. At COP30, he is expected to deliver a speech, marking a notable expansion of his responsibilities on the global stage. This will be William's first international trip for a COP summit, following his attendance at COP26 in Glasgow in 2021. King Charles, 76, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, previously led royal representation at these events. The reception in London was hosted by Dr Doug Gurr of the Natural History Museum and Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy. The royal duo met with various changemakers from finance, business, science, and education, including former Prime Minister Theresa May. They discussed innovative solutions to combat climate change developed in the UK. Dr Gurr emphasised the need for collective action, stating, "We need everyone in society to get on board to tackle the twin challenges of biodiversity loss and climate change." He noted the palpable commitment to environmental action from both the King and the Prince of Wales, as well as the UK Government and school students working to enhance their local environments. King Charles missed the COP27 summit in Egypt last year, following government advice during Liz Truss's premiership, despite his desire to attend. He has previously participated in COP events in 2015 and 2021 and attended COP28 in Dubai in 2023, where he urged world leaders to take meaningful action, stating that the world is still “dreadfully far off track” in achieving climate targets. The King also missed COP29 in Azerbaijan in 2024 due to his cancer diagnosis. Both he and Prince William have been vocal advocates for climate action. In addition to their advocacy, it was announced that King Charles's lifelong commitment to environmental issues will be featured in a new Amazon Prime documentary titled "Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision." The film aims to inspire a broader audience to embrace sustainable practices and will showcase Charles's reflections on his environmental philosophy. The documentary, produced by Passion Planet in collaboration with The King’s Foundation and Amazon MGM Studios, is set to launch early next year in over 240 countries and territories. The King expressed his hope that the film will highlight the remarkable global efforts to protect the planet.
