AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo VA Health Care System is hosting its 18th annual Welcome Home Veterans event on Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Amarillo Civic Center North Exhibit Hall.

According to officials with the Amarillo VA, the opening ceremony will begin at 11:15 a.m. and the food line will begin at 11:30 a.m. Officials noted the event is the time to enjoy free food courtesy of United Supermarkets, a large interactive resource fair, door prizes and celebrate those who served ahead of Veterans Day.

“It is an honor to host this event every year to ‘welcome home’ our hometown heroes and thank them for their service,” said Dr. Rodney S. Gonzalez, AVAHCS Director.
