Liberal leader John Hogan has pledged to expand the healthy living tax credit and increase funding for grants to youth organizations.

Hogan made the announcement in Corner Brook this morning.

He says his party, if elected, will change the Physical Activity Tax Credit to the Healthy Living Tax Credit, which would expand eligibility to other well-being programs such as music, dance, visual art, STEM, and life-skills programs.

As an example, Hogan says if someone spends $2,000 on a gym membership, swimming lessons, choir, or cooking classes, they can use that as a credit on their income to save some money.
