MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WRBL) — The disappearance of a Tuskegee teenager has now been classified as a homicide investigation, according to District Attorney Mike Segrest of Alabama’s Fifth Judicial Circuit, which includes Macon County.

16-year-old Jordan Lashelle Fitzpatrick was last seen around March 22, 2023, and may have been in the Auburn area. For more than two years, her family held out hope she would be found safe.

Those hopes were shattered when, on September 25, 2025, forensic scientists in Montgomery identified human remains as belonging to Jordan.

“We now know this young lady was the victim of a homicide,” Segrest said. “We are committed to supporting the family and Montgomery investigators to make sure justice is served.”
