GREENSBORO, N.C. — The City of Greensboro celebrated the completion of Phase I and the groundbreaking of Phase II of a new affordable housing development on Yanceyville Street, marking a key step in its ongoing “Road to 10K” housing initiative.

Yanceyville Place I, an 84-unit affordable apartment complex, is now leasing. Phase Two, Yanceyville Place II, is slated to begin construction soon. The development is part of the city’s goal to create 10,000 affordable housing units in response to growing demand.

Mary Beth Powell, president of the Greensboro Regional Realtor Association , said rising home prices are making it harder for residents to find attainable housing.
