Deputies arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with a body found behind a Guadalupe bus stop almost a month ago, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office announced Oct. 9.

On Sept. 11, deputies found a dead man behind a bus stop on Avenida del Yaqui, just north of Calle Guadalupe, who had “sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds,” according to a MCSO news release.

The victim was later identified as 65-year-old Amalio Castillo-Villareal.

“Despite having few leads or physical evidence,” MCSO homicide detectives made an arrest on Oct. 7, according to the release.

Detectives identified 36-year-old Roman Rubalcava as the suspect, the release stated.
