DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Two adults have been arrested after an investigation by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office uncovered unsecured guns accessible to children, including on school property, deputies said.

The investigation, conducted in partnership with Davidson County Schools and Child Protective Services, began in late September after multiple reports raised concerns about the welfare of several children. Authorities said the children’s immediate safety was confirmed, and child protection officials were brought in to address ongoing issues.

By early October, investigators, school staff, and School Resource Officers coordinated efforts to locate individuals connected to the case. During that process, officials said additional safety risks were identified and resolved.
