David Del Rio, one of the stars of the hit CBS drama “Matlock” has been fired from the show over allegations that he sexually assaulted a co-star. According to Variety , Del Rio was fired and removed from the set of the show following an internal investigation conducted by the network.
Deadline reports the alleged assault took place on Sept. 26 on property owned by Paramount, which is CBS’s parent company. Del Rio was fired on Oct. 2 and his character, Billy Martinez will be written off the show.
According to TMZ , filming for the show’s second season is already underway, with a previously scheduled hiatus set for October and November, to begin once the first half of the season is filmed. The second season of “Matlock” is scheduled to premiere Sunday, Oct. 12 on CBS.
