Emotions were high during the opening minutes of All Creatures Great and Small as Channel 5 viewers saw Tristan Farnon (Callum Woodhouse) struggle.

As a memorial service was held in Darrowby to honour the war's fallen soldiers, it was clear his experience in the war had taken a toll, as he was found by his brother Siegfried (Samuel West) away from the crowd.

However, his mood quickly turns around when 'Captain Farnon' is called by the new family in town, the Beauvoirs, to tend their horse Philbrick.
