A man and woman are facing animal cruelty charges after dead animals were found in their trailer in Waterbury on Tuesday, police said.

The police department said they responded to Storage Rentals of America on West Main Street shortly before 5 p.m. after receiving an anonymous tip about a woman living in a trailer with a large number of live and dead animals.

Officers and animal control officials found two people living in the trailer, with both deceased and live animals.

Both people were charged with 31 counts of animal cruelty. The incident remains under investigation.
