WATERBURY, Conn. — Two Waterbury residents were charged with 31 counts of cruelty to animals Tuesday, according to the city's police department.

At 4:51 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the Storage Rentals of America on 770 West Main St. after receiving an anonymous report about a woman living in a trailer with a "large number" of animals.

Police charged Courtney Beardsley, 26, and Johann Delgado-Lopez, both of Waterbury, who they found living in a trailer with animals, including some that were dead.

The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
