BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A Bakersfield man convicted of child molestation more than 20 years ago was sentenced Thursday to six years in prison after pleading no contest to sexually abusing a minor.

A statement read on the victim's behalf said Houghton's actions left them feeling "confusion, fear, hurt."

The victim said they're looking forward to moving on with their life -- what Houghton did won't stop them from continuing to grow as a person.
