BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- New polling by David Binder Research shows a fascinating shift in support among the candidates who are attempting to become one of Kern County's next state assemblymen.
In the poll, front-runner and Bakersfield City Council Member, Andrae Gonzales, maintains 31% support, with emerging competitor Ana Palacio trailing at 15%. Palacio, a registered nurse and patient advocate, announced her candidacy in September.
Both candidates are running to replace Jasmeet Bains, who's seeking to unseat David Valadao in Congress.
Initially, the poll didn't provide any information on the candidates, including only the ballot labels to simulate the actual ballot and an anticipated Republican challenger.
