New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday was reported to be indicted by a federal grand jury in Virginia for bank fraud. The indictment arrives months after she was reported to be under investigation for possible mortgage fraud.
The indictment comes nearly two months after U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Special Attorney for Mortgage Fraud Ed Martin sent a letter to James attorney, Abbe Lowell, which strongly urged the Democrat to resign from office amid the probe investigating whether she illegally misrepresented her primary residence on mortgage loan applications in order to secure more favorable interest rates.
