Edmonton police say they are looking into the death of a 42-year-old man who died in central Edmonton on Wednesday.

EPS says around 8:50 p.m. on Oct. 8, officers responded to reports of gunshots near 107 Avenue and 109 Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 42-year-old man outside a home suffering from injuries.

The officers tried providing medical assistance, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy was completed Thursday, which confirmed the man’s identity as Andrew Donald McCabe.

Additionally, the autopsy confirmed that McCabe died from a gunshot wound and that the manner of death was a homicide.

Police say an investigation is ongoing, and are asking if anyone has any information or camera footage near 107 Avenue and 109 Street between 7 and 9 p.m
