A report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Thursday is right in line with what our own Toby Rowland has been saying all week, Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer is “in line” to attempt to play in Saturday’s Red River Rivalry matchup against Texas.

, Rowland reiterated that he expects Mateer to be available, barring a setback before kickoff.

“If he can grip the football and throw the football, he’s going to play,” Rowland said. “I think he’s throwing the football now. It might hurt him. I don’t know how well he’s throwing it, but I heard nothing today that made me believe John Mateer won’t play.”
