SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The No. 7-ranked Ozona Lions are heading into district play with a perfect record, and they have found the right balance with a powerful offense and a defense that causes fits for opponents.
Ozona is 5-0 heading into the District 3-2A Division I opener at home against Reagan County at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10.
The Lions are averaging more than 62 points a game, and they're holding teams to an average of less than 19 points.
Ozona has a sensational running back Christian Villarreal, who puts up statistics like a video game.
But the Lions' defense has also played a big role in the team's success in Jason Pitts' first season as head coach.
