TWO HARBORS, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Small aircraft pilots now have a terminal to take off from up the north shore.
Two Harbor City leaders are celebrating the grand opening of their newest terminal building at the Richard B. Helgeson Airport.
The new investment will replace the old building, constructed half a century ago, to create a hub for travelers passing through.
Overall, the project is worth about $1.3 million, with all funding secured, without involving the Two Harbors taxpayers.
“The FAA threw in some congressional funding from Senator Klobuchar and Representative Stauber,“ said Mayor Lew Conner. “There was a $60,000 balance that we had to come up with, and the state was able to put that amount in.“
