HIBBING, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A massive EMS, fire, and law enforcement response is at the scene of a home that exploded next to Hibbing High School.

According to the Hibbing Fire Department, they responded to the explosion at 6:38 p.m. on Saturday and, upon arrival, found a two-story home fully engulfed in flames.

One person was transported to Fairview Range for injuries unknown at this time.

The fire spread to a neighboring home, but by 9:15 p.m., the Hibbing Fire Department had the fire under control.

According to our reporter on the scene, two fire engine ladders are being used to spray water from above.

According to officials, the scene is being described as chaotic and they are asking the public to avoid the area while crews continue to work.
