GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Hamas and Israel have agreed to the first phase of President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in the region that has been going on for two years.

Advocates and faith leaders in West Michigan told News 8 that the conflict has impacted these communities across the country and the world.

Rabbi Javier Cattapan from Temple Emanuel told News 8 that he has started to notice a shift in his congregations' feelings.

"I am starting to sense a bit of relief, but at the same time the conflict has been going on for more than two years in the region so this would be a step in the right direction," Cattapan said.
