HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Village of Horseheads' water system is losing over 160 million gallons of water per year.

A 2,500 foot pipe that runs through marshlands near the Mill Street Pond accounts for about a third of the overall leak. The village says the pipe is leaking an estimated minimum of 54 million gallons annually.
