Brittany Higgins’ husband David Sharaz has accepted a bankruptcy notice from Linda Reynolds, with the former senator demanding that he pay up after the couple’s bruising defamation case loss.

The ex-Liberal senator won her bitter Supreme Court battle with her former junior media adviser and spouse in August and swiftly moved to recoup associated damages and court costs.

Ms Reynolds recently filed bankruptcy documents targeting Mr Sharaz in the WA registry of the Federal Court and on Friday, he confirmed he had accepted them.

“Mr Sharaz today agreed to accept service of the bankruptcy notice I had issued to him several weeks ago but not before forcing me to incur further legal expenses in applying for substituted service orders,” Ms Reynolds said in a statement through her legal represen
