New public art is now available to see on the Seventh Street Bridge in Port Huron.

The city unveiled a new mural this week painted on the bridge by local artist Steven Nordgren. Titled "Under the Blue," the mural is a celebration of Port Huron as a waterside community, according to a news release.

“I had a lot of fun with this project, and a lot of eyes watching as I worked wondering what was taking shape,” Nordgren said in a statement.

The mural cost $8,500 to produce and was funded by the James C. Acheson Marina.

Nordgren has completed several other murals around town, including on the side of the Active Lounge at Seventh Street and Lapeer and on the side of Tailgators Sports Bar, also on Lapeer.
