The Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States has reportedly seized the date sites of the group responsible for the Qantas hack that exposed millions of Australians.
In July, cybercriminals accessed an enormous trove of personal records through a Qantas offsite call centre in Manila by gaining access to a Salesforce operating system.
The cyber attack exposed 5.7 million Australians, with their person details including names, phone numbers, residential addresses, email addresses, dates of birth and frequent flyer details stolen.
The collective who claimed responsibility for the hack, Scattered Lapsus$ Hunters, had been pressuring Qantas, along with around 39 other companies, to pay up by Friday or risk having their customers data published in full on the dark web.
