Properties in the centre of Hespeler Village — 329 of them — are about to get a lot of special protection from Cambridge.
The city is working on a plan to turn this historic part of the city into Hespeler Heritage Conservation District — a special zone that guards the old buildings and river views.
The protected area includes properties on Queen Street East, Queen Street West, Adam Street, Cooper Street, Walker Street, Eagle Hill, Guelph Avenue, Tannery Street, Kribs Street, Spring Street, Milling Road, Sheffield Street, Elizabeth Street, Forbes Street, Franklin Boulevard, Harvey Street, Hungerford Road, Keffer Street, Lewis Street, Panabaker Street, Patrick Place, and Shamrock Street.
