KINGSTON – Republican County Legislator Joseph Maloney (Saugerties) has written a three-page letter to the State Attorney General, asking for an investigation into fellow Republican Legislator Thomas Corcoran, who represents Marlborough.

Maloney is asking the attorney general to launch an investigation into Corcoran’s alleged mishandling of funds belonging to the Marlborough Youth Football and Cheerleading Inc., when he served as treasurer for the organization.

Maloney also sent a similar request to the state comptroller.

Maloney’s request also claims that Corcoran, the Town of Marlborough Building Inspector, and his brother, Scott Corcoran, the Marlborough supervisor, have illegally accepted more than $50,000 in monetary contributions and gifts from a developer seeking town approval fo
