NEWBURGH – A 13-year-old not related to the 11-year-old boy murdered in his family apartment at 184 North Miller Street in the City of Newburgh on Thursday morning, has been arrested and charged with murder.
Several police agencies assisted city police and within 12 hours arrested the suspect, who was not related to the victim. He was one of three youths who were identified and quickly located by police.
Detectives recovered a gun believed to be the murder weapon.
The alleged shooter was arraigned in the Youth Part of Orange County Court today and charged as an adult.
Assisting Newburgh Police in the investigation were the Orange County District Attorney’s Office investigators, sheriff’s office, Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, State Police, ATF, Town of Newburgh Police and the H
