Police are investigating a robbery at a Starbucks in Stockton in which a man reportedly threatened staff while trying to steal cash. According to reports on social media, the suspect threatened workers at the Mile House cafe on Durham Road before making off.

Cleveland Police attended the store and an officer could later be seen carrying out forensic investigations. The incident occurred at about 6.40pm on Thursday, October 9. A spokesperson for the force confirmed they were investigating the crime which is being treated as robbery.

She said: "At 6.40pm on Thursday, October 9, police received reports of a robbery at a cafe on Durham Road in Stockton . A man is believed to have entered the cafe and verbally requested money from the till before leaving prior to officers attending."
