Rangers have hit out at the 'shameful behaviour' that saw their iconic statue of Walter Smith outside Ibrox set on fire.
Video footage emerged overnight of the statue, located at the east corner of the stadium with a fire started over its right shoulder.
Reports this morning suggested a scarf was set ablaze and thrown at the statue, with the fire brigade on the scene in the small hours of Friday morning.
Police then arrived around 9am after reports of fire damage to the statue, which is now being investigated by cops.
A Rangers statement on the matter now reads: "Rangers FC is aware of an incident at the Walter Smith statue last night, and strongly condemns this shameful behaviour.
