OWASCO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- The West Lake Art Conservation Center in Owasco has transformed a former golf course clubhouse into a facility where family heirlooms and priceless paintings are meticulously restored.

The center, which overlooks the lake, specializes in bringing artworks back to life, one tiny brush stroke at a time. A notable project involved restoring a painting from 1872 for the Leroy Historical Society, which had been neglected in an attic for a century. The restoration process included removing varnish, repairing the canvas, and carefully matching the original brushwork and colors.

"We tend to add little bits of color at a time, just little dots," explained a conservator at the center, highlighting the delicate nature of their work.
